Hello and welcome to Simply Pilates. Here you can find out a little bit about our fabulous team.

Alison

Alison is the co-owner of Simply Pilates and Master Trainer for Peak Pilates®.
Alison was very lucky that she was able to start dancing and Yoga at a very early age as her parents are very active people, and this instilled a love for movement.
After completing her Bachelor of Science degree, she moved to New York and lived there for 5 years where she found her true passion – Pilates. She feels very honoured and blessed to have been mentored  by the amazing Pilates Masters Susan Moran, Peter Roel and Bob Liekens.
After returning to Australia to start her Pilates studio here in Melbourne, she was asked to join the Peak Pilates® Instructor Training Team and was able to further her training with the illustrious Master Trainers, Clare Dunphy, Colleen Glen and Zoey Trapp. Alison is very proud to be part of the Peak Pilates® global Master Instructor Team and to be able to offer their Teacher Training Programs right here in Melbourne.
With great privilege Alison has been able to train Instructors in Japan, Indonesia, New Zealand and Australia. To participate and present in a number of Fitness Conventions in New York and Idea in Las Vegas as well as Filex.

Her passion is people and Pilates and and the amazing effect that classical Pilates has on changing the body. She loves helping people to feel good and making them happy. Alison believes in healthy exercise, healthy nutrition and happy soul.

I have been in the Pilates industry for over 15 years, and along with Alison I am the co-owner of Simply Pilates, and an international Peak Pilates Master instructor.

My passion in life is Pilates and movement. I love to share my knowledge, experience and passion for exercise with others. Throughout my 15 years of experience I have attended, as well as conducted numerous courses and workshops in Authentic Pilates, anatomy, teaching and presentation skills, stretching and functional fitness, to name just a few. I also love teaching the Barre method, and thoroughly enjoy bringing this fun workout to people.

I have traveled extensively, teaching and learning about Pilates and fitness. My passion lies in bringing my love and knowledge of Pilates to enrich people’s lives. I also enjoy running, weight training, reading, chocolate and watching True Blood.

Eve

Born and raised in Quebec City, Canada, Eve’s love for movement and Pilates started at an early age through dancing and skiing. Pilates (Mat) was part of the regular warm up in her Jazz and Modern dance classes – she learned to love the Hundred at the age of 12 and still does over 20 years later!
Eve’s passion for Pilates really came to the fore after settling in Melbourne and spending much more time dedicating herself to improving her technique and knowledge of this wonderful discipline. Having worked in the hospitality and tourism industry for over a decade around the world, Eve was encouraged by her Pilates trainers and mentors to become a Pilates Instructor. She embarked on her journey through Simply Pilates and is qualified to teach both Mat and Apparatus. She is preparing for further training in 2013, aiming to achieve the highest level of qualification in Peak Pilates.
Eve is also an accomplished skier who taught alpine skiing for seven years, and who also has a real passion for her family, traveling and food.

Cathy began her Pilates journey seven years ago, when she became a client of Simply Pilates, whilst working in Private Practice as a Physiotherapist. From a fitness perspective she had experimented
in Yoga, Gym and running but Alison and Sandra at Simply Pilates made the experience of attending Pilates inspiring, effective and addictive! So much so that she undertook the Peak Pilates Instructor Training course. She is still a physiotherapist and a busy mum of 2 boys, so she knows that Pilates is a necessity and focal point of anyone’s health and well being.


Ash

Ash

Ash started ballet at 5 years of age at The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet and by 15 was dancing full time. By 18 she had performed numerous full length Ballets at the State Theatre, Hammer Hall, & the Melbourne Town Hall with Opera Australia, The Australian Pops Orchestra and The Australian Youth Orchestra. Her dancing took her to Tokyo where she performed for Disney for 9 months and when returning she furthered her studies in performing arts and danced freelance in the commercial dance scene. She studied Pilates through her ballet training from 10 years of age and now retired from dance Ash has furthered her studies in Pilates and combined this with her knowledge of Ballet to become a Barre Instructor. Ash feels at home in the studio, loves to move and is passionate about fitness. She looks forward to using her knowledge and experience to help students at Simply Pilates achieve their goals.




Georgie Long Stretch

My passion for health and fitness started at an early age. I was running and competing in athletics from the age of 5.
I continued to do lots of sport through my teen years as I loved to exercise.
I loved how exercise and training my body made me feel . I have competed in a natural figure sculpting competition and enjoyed the process but realized it wasn’t for me and I needed something more that challenged my body and my mind.
I came across Pilates about 4 years ago and really loved how it made me feel and how I was using muscles I had never used before. It gave me an amazing feeling and I wanted to share that feeling with others.
I started with the Basic Mat which confirmed my passion for Pilates and then continued my education with the PPC comprehensive Certification.
I look forward to teaching and helping clients achieve their goals and include Pilates in their everyday life.



Louise FLouise 


Louise first discovered Pilates in her native England over 15 years ago. She joined the Simply Pilates studio as a client in 2005 after moving to Australia with her family and has been a committed client and now instructor ever since. Having suffered chronic back pain for many years, Pilates has helped restore flexibility and strength. She is passionate about classical Pilates and the many benefits of this movement system and feels immensely privileged to be able to share the discipline with others.

Louise is married with two adult sons and a teenage daughter. The family is mad about sport and fitness, are all keen tennis players, and have been hugely supportive to Louise whilst training.

She has been lucky enough to travel widely, loves France and the French language, cooking, tennis and skiing. She holds a private Pilots Licence in both Australia and the UK and is a Cordon Bleu trained cook.



MelindaMelinda


Melinda has always enjoyed an active lifestyle and her participation in competitive level athletics, tennis and hockey during school years lead to an ongoing focus on distance running as an adult. She has completed numerous marathons, including the New York City Marathon and The Two Oceans 56km Ultra Marathon.
After the birth of her second child Melinda was keen to get back to exercise and movement. She faced constant niggles and injuries, and Pilates was recommended to improve core strength and prevent any further injuries. Melinda started clinical Pilates in 2011 and commenced classical Pilates training with Simply Pilates in 2013 – she can truly attest to Joseph Pilates quote “In 10 session you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a whole new body”.
Melinda is comprehensively certified through the Peak Pilates System, is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of New South Wales.
She is drawn to the dynamic, athletic side of Pilates and believes that Pilates can transform anyone who is open to it.
